2 Important Things To Do Before You Drive This Winter

December 5th, 2016 by

As the colder weather begins to roll in (and snow inevitably falling on our roads), it’s important to keep a close eye on your tires. So, we’d like to set you up with a few helpful tips to ensure your tires will withstand the winter months:

1. Check your tire tread. Tire tread is important because the worse your tire tread condition is, the less stopping ability your car then has. Checking your tire tread is easy to do and can be done using just a penny! If you’ve never done this before, check out our video tutorial, which walks you through these simple steps!

2. Check your tire pressure. Your tires lose about one pound of pressure with every 10-degree drop in the outside temperature, therefore, we need to be extra diligent about checking our PSI during the winter months. The benefits of making sure your tires are fully inflated include getting better gas mileage, as well as ensuring a safer drive on the roads.
